Sweets

A beautiful day, a beautiful golf course on the Oregon coast.   I wouldn't mind walking this one.

Isn't this a truth?    About time thought was given to the end results of what and how we teach our children.    It seems we were always taught by example.   We were taught a little 'fear of God' never made us a bad person but a stronger one  That old adage of 'what goes around comes around' seems to fit the bill.

Now you cannot go wrong with a philosophy like this.   I'm out of cookies so I best get off my duff and fill the cookie jar.  I may need a little help before the day is over.

I found these little guys on Facebook, Angie strikes again.  She has such a fun sense of humor.    I think her comment was that she didn't use her artistic skills when it came to baking.   How simple to make a cupcake into a little bear.  It sure is clever and I bet delicious.    Where to start?  Feet first?    ears?    maybe the head . . . you decide.
It is Thursday and I have lunch date with a lady named Marcia.    This Marcia is a true born and brought up Brookings lady and has a 'blinds' business here in town.    She is tall and slender and has a soft personality and she seems to love old ladies as she is a Bingo caller on Wednesday nights;   drives a few around and introduces them to a wonderful rib restaurant over where the Golden Bears are. It is only open in summer and the rumor is because of lack of customers, high gas prices, no work and a few dozen other sad but important reasons may have to close and that would be very sad.    She is a delight, has a wonderful sense of humor and revels in being one of the best grandmothers in town.  So I am in for a treat today and looking forward to lunch time.

I read to Russell yesterday and he was late getting to our reading session.   He had taken his electric cart and gone to the bank as he is having a guest this week, a nephew, who will come for his birthday celebration.  We read for a short while then John came to pick me up and came in and spend a little time listening to Russell tell about how he helped to build the Port and his days of building fishing boats.   They were fiber glass boats and he managed to build a lot of them and thinks there may be one or two still around.   John gave him full attention and I think Russell would love to have kept him for hours.    I left him a little birthday bag and instructions to open it on his birthday morning but he just grinned and you know he will have it opened as soon as he gets back to his apartment.

All in all my week has flown by and there is yet more of it to enjoy.   The weather as eighty plus degrees and we had big winds so the ocean waves were thundering.   We have the big yard sale coming up this weekend so you know where and what I will be doing.    Wish us luck as we hope to make our millions....smile.....well, it really is something to laugh about as the folks will try to barter for lower prices.   Pat refuses to mark anything ten cents.

Enjoy your today, make someone happy even if it is only for a few seconds or two.     Give of yourself as it is the very best gift you can give.     Don't forget to shine today. . . smile from the eyes;   hug from the heart and have a memory building day.    Hugs to all.
