Sharon

I had to struggle for a picture this morning.  Have no idea where the pictures went that I put on yesterday.  I thought this one was a picture of serenity and a good way to start our day.
Friend Sharon Guinn and her husband Bud.   Sharon is a very talented artist.    I have put many of her pictures on the blog to share with you.
Gorse, it is spreading south of us now.    At one time it was up in the Bandon area north of us.   Now it is heading south.    It really is a beautiful color but so invasive.

It is Saturday, the beginning of our weekend.    Christine arrived and had picked up a head cold.  She is not sure if it was the San Francisco office crew or the weather change.    We are going to have a ninety degree day today so maybe the heat will help clear the cold.     Sunshine can't hurt.   There are a couple of big yard sales to go to today.    Friend Marcia has been working for two weeks setting her sale up.    Then, we have to stop by and give my neighbor Jim a birthday hug, 93 today.   He asked for a carrot cake, one of my favorites, and La Verne uses Pat's recipe which is very tasty.  We had a note from Pat saying they had a very long lay over in Denver but finally got to their destination.     It made for a very long travel day.    Pat left instructions on feeding Emma.   She knows her dog.    Emma let me know  at one fifteen it was time to put her food into her bowl.  She was hungry and cleaned the bowl out in seconds.    She is a very smart dog and we did really good out in the yard weeding a bit and resting up in the sunshine.     A nice lazy weekend to enjoy my daughter Christine.     I hope you have company for the weekend and get to be lazy and just enjoy each other.     It is fun to sit quietly and listen as you catch up with one another.     If you haven't made up some hummus lately, do, as it is delicious and makes the taste buds sit up and take notice.   Pat left a big bowl of it for Christine as it is one of her favorite snacks.    We put a dent in it yesterday and bet we finish it before today is over.     A lazy summer weekend with bright sunshine, who could ask for any thing better?  Not me . . . don't forget, smile with your eyes, walk into that big hug and make this weekend unforgettable.   Hugs to all.
