Pat

My beautiful daughter Patricia.    It isn't often she gets to go away on a vacation and this one seems endless as she wont be back for days.    She sent some pictures as she rode back from Colorado to New Mexico.   Yes, she did get to shop . . . a Taos.   I have no idea what the buildings are or why they are in the condition they are in.  We will have to wait for her to return and tell us all of her tales.    She is enjoying her vacation and her friends and hasn't missed a day to contact us to find out how Emma is doing.  It reminds me of a time when she  was much younger and had a chance to vacation far away from home for two weeks and telephoned every day to ask about her rabbit.   She wasn't homesick for us at all but the rabbit was near and dear to her hear. Some things never change.

My neighbor Pam and her husband Randy were in the neighborhood to show their house.  They had hope for a sale but folks seem to need a place to rent.   They had poor luck with one renter so are being cautious this time.    Christine and I were heading for the Tea Room so invited Pam along, Randy was busy doing yard work.  Wish they lived across the street so I could hire him as my yard man as he does such a great job of keeping things neat.   Pam did agree to go to lunch with us so it was a delight to share some time with her.    The tea room was crowded and the new owners have done a great job revamping the menu and adding some new treats.  The pies are still outstanding and of course chocolate creme pie was on the menu yesterday....yum.    Isn't it strange that sometimes calories don't matter!

So today, Thursday all day, take yourself off to the kitchen and bake yourself a pie, or if that seems like too much work, go out to lunch and find your favorite pie stop and choose a piece of your favorite pie and enjoy every bite.    Some calories are meant to be enjoyed and taste even better when shared in good company.    Besides deserts taste much better when shared with a smile and that extra ounce is so much more squeezable; so, don't despair, grab a fork and 'indulge to bulge' and share a few memories along the way.     Hugs to all.
