Musing about Expressions

Expressions
The dictionary tells me that expression is the act of expressing, conveying, or representing in words, art, music or movement manifestation. Something that expresses or communicates A facial aspect or look that conveys a special feeling; an expression of scorn.     My we all have our own way of using our expression . . . sometimes with a smile, a grin or a giggle;  or, on the other hand, a scowl, a fierce face to show the world how we feel about something that does not agree with us.    We are what we present to our world and it is by expression that folks pick up on how we feel.  So today the third day in our month of June, and the first day of our new week, let's practice our expressions.  Show those folks you come in contact the real you, the one with the smiling eyes, the loving hands and the words that spring forth will be of kindness and truth.    No game playing.    Be open, be honest and be at ease with your world today.  Take a good look at the beautiful cat painted by Juanita Figeroa which she dubbed "Watching Mountain Lion"  and won first prize at People's Choice Award at the Sydney Museum Art Show in Port Orchard, Washington.   Is it a he or a she . .  is it alert and watching?   Is it feeling sad and hopeful?   A look captured on canvas, one for you to decide.

My expression this morning is one of dismay.   I turned on the television to find a roaring fire in southern California, and another in Mexico.  The news of the three men who were chasing the awesome tornadoes in Oklahoma that lost their lives, seasoned veterans of the chase and well skilled were no match for the power of nature.    The young man who went for a swim at the top of the waterfall in Yosemite and got caught in an undertow that took him over the falls and there is no hope of finding him alive.   Our hearts go out to the families and friends who are in need.   Take time out to light a candle , say a prayer for acceptance and courage to live your seconds as they come, for one never knows what today will bring.    Make sure your expression is one of kindness and love, then share it for it can change someone else from a scowl to a smile.  Hugs to all.
