Daughter Patricia is visiting Jock's old cabin in Colorado. The family get together is going well and they are all having a good time. That is a stove I haven't seen in a lot of years, or one like it. I am waiting for some pictures of the terrain and other visited spots.
Here it is Hump Day once again. We do not seem to run out of them and that is a good thing. Hump Day is a good day to decide what you want to do with the upcoming weekend as it will soon be along. Getting chores done and the 'desk' cleared is always a good thing. There is something about being neat and tidy and well organized that gives you freedom to plot and plan a decent weekend.
Gardening weather is still with us and I trimmed back a big bush yesterday. I have the pick up work to do this morning. A little bit at a time and I'm getting more and more of the garden area in shape. What is the old adage about being 'slow and steady'; well, it works. One hour of gardening and the rest of the day to myself. I'm enjoying "The Queen's Fool" by Philippa Gregory.
I called son John on his cellphone yesterday and sang him Happy Birthday as he was standing in line at a paint store. I couldn't help but wonder if my voice carried ....ha...ha....well, how did I know he would be out shopping. He took it in stride and probably thought "Mothers! sheesh! Mother's are like that." well his is anyway...poor guy.
So strengthen your vocal cords and sing out if you have a birthday person to cheer on. Make their day worthwhile and open up those arms and give a walk in hug as you bellow and roar greetings on their special day. Hopefully they will remember and when your day comes they will greet you with an on or off key rendition of one of our favorite tunes. So, if by chance, today is your birthday, know I am singing here at the computer wishing you good health, a bit of wealth and a very special birthday . . . just like you. Hugs to all. |
