The only flag that doesn't fly . . . between the fields are miles of flower fields which go all the way to the ocean. I think I've shown this picture a long time ago, but, it is worth a second peek. The flowers are grown by seed companies and then planted in a field at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The flag is 740 ft. long and 390 ft. wide . . .maintains proper flag dimensions described in Executive Order #10834. It covers 6.65 acres and the first flag planted with five pointed stars comprised of white larkspur. Star is 24ft in diameter, each stripe 30 feet wide and contains 400,000 larkspur plants with 4-5 flower stems each...two million flowers ...for each and everyone of our soldiers. Doesn't that make you sit up and take notice . . . God Bless America. |
